Recipes are the greatest treasure and the secret of successful confectioners. In the 1920s, candy recipes were kept secret in the form of numerical codes.
The first fruity hard candies made at Union – the predecessor of Kraš – were kept under the code 505. When Union purchased machinery that was then a major innovation and could make a dark line around them, new candies were simply called 505 with a line, by which name they are still known and loved to this day.
